Bryce Young

I like the Falcons' weaponry better than I do the, the Panthers.

And I know that the Panthers have upgraded in the outside a little bit in the last couple years here, so Bryce Young's got some, some real targets now, and they can run the ball effectively.

It's a little bit pedestrian, but they can still run the ball, right? So, but I look at the other guys on the other side, and I go, man, they got star power over there, right? The Falcons have the guys, they've got the shine.

Do you have a guy that can get them the football? Certainly you can hand it off to Bijan or Bijan.

Uh, Kevin Stefanski, I've seen this movie in Cleveland.

Give me the Panthers, uh, to be able to bounce back, and I think their offense does enough to overwhelm.

If it's a shootout, give me Carolina with Bryce Young and company, and I, I think their receiving corps is going to give a headache to the Falcon secondary.

Buddy, uh, I know, I know you like the Titans.

But when I look at the Bears, there are some deficiencies they have.

All right? First of all, you gave up 37 points to Bryce Young.

Okay? 37 points.

Your defense, if you think for one second, for one second, when you play a competent, good NFL team, you're going to let it.

You're talking so poorly about Bryce Young.

Bryce Young took his team to the playoffs.

Do we know that Kyler Murray is not starting? Do we know that Carson Wentz is starting? So there's two different types of mindsets that you have to have against each of them.

But they're fresh off of the mindset that they just had with Bryce Young, and there's a lot of similarities between he and Kyler Murray.

But then if you're going to go to Carson Wentz, you're talking about a big 6'3", 6'4", quarterback that doesn't move as well, but he's got arm confidence.

And they have Justin Jefferson, and they have Jordan Addison, and they have TJ Hawkinson.

You want them to be on the field so they're getting points.

But from a team perspective, rushing these guys back and then they continue to get injured is... is always a poor choice so we're going to see again we'll see with a hamstring for flowers you know if he plays in week two or three or four there's that re-aggravation risk it's a case of until Sean you kind of get to championship round and week 17 is over there's always a concern with the the injury side of stuff when we're talking about this Cardinals game and I think we can probably branch this into an even wider conversation about the QBs in general you started to ask me the question in terms of Where would Bryce Young go? Or who would I cut this week to add Bryce Young kind of at the quarterback position? Sean, we had some horror shows this week in terms of QB fantasy points.

We also had some horror shows in terms of QB performances.

Justin Herbert probably fits a little bit into that category.

They were more low quality pressures where they weren't really impacting the play as much.

And Bryce Young had a career day because of that.

Now, another quarterback who had a career day, obviously we're kind of burying the lead here, you know, I think that the biggest storyline coming out of this, besides the offense scored 59 points in general, and just how dominant the unit looks, was just the continued growth of Caleb Williams in this one.

Where, you know, statistically...

So you feel really good about where things are at with the offense.

The defense, though, yeah, it's a problem.

You can't just give up 37 points to Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers and not say it's a problem.

We can talk about the Bears all day long here in terms of their week one victory, but I think we'd be remiss not to move on to some college football stuff.

He just has the tools that plays on Sundays.

And I think when we look at the quarterbacks, that dominated week one you know like caleb williams we had josh allen ultimately i do think that you need to have a quarterback that has those tools to rival those guys i do think it's an arms race in the nfl and i do think so much of what makes a good quarterback obviously isn't just physical tools but you need to have them to you know have a seat at the table i think you know bryce young he played really well he's even if he played like that every single game he's never going to be spoken about as a top five guy purely because The physical tools just aren't there.

And Drew Messonnier has those physical tools in droves.

317 pass yards, 119 yards on the ground, three total touchdowns, including that heroic rushing touchdown, lay out into the end zone, dive over the player.

Usually they're drafted because they're really good and they have to be really good to be in that position, right? And he had 122 targets last year, 7 interceptions, 1,000 yards, and 7 touchdowns.

He's only going to get better as Bryce Young gets better, and I think we're going to see that this season.

I think we've already seen it a little bit, right? You know, he only hit 20 PPR points in 6% of his games, which really isn't inspiring hope.

But it's also just how Carolina is, and I don't think there's much room to worry.

I think that's to make Ted better, right? And the model kind of agrees, you know, 110 targets and about 84 receptions and about 1,200 yards.

I think, yeah, I think that's about right.

And I think, you know, if Bryce Young truly takes a step forward and finally develops himself, I think we're going to see this and I think we're going to be really happy with the results here.

And this is going to be a guy who you draft and then next year he's going to be a first or second round pick easily.

I think because he can perform at a high enough level.

I mean, if I'm comparing Bryce young and his last couple of years to Carson Wentz and his last couple of years, doesn't look that different in terms of like touchdown interception ratio, passer rating, PFF grade, like whatever you want to go with.

It's not that different between those two quarterbacks.

And Bryce Young looked like Steve Young against this Chicago Bears defense.

Vikings wild wolves is might as well wait till after the buy, which is week seven to bring Mason back.

I mean, my understanding is as soon as it's healed, he's fine.

I don't know.

All day, Bryce Young was happy back there.

Um, purple Kool-Aid says, uh, with Tyler shook and Jordan love, both were in position to win the game.

Saints were down 21, which helped them put up the stats.
