Daniel DenvirHost
Ben MabieHostDaniel, I love your show.
I'm with you 100% politically, which means that since I'm Cuban, my grandparents and my parents are turning over their graves.
But that's
okay.
I'll be
able to hopefully talk to them about that sometime in the future.
But it all started with important.
People started pronouncing it important.
And now instead of Latin America, Latin America, it's Latin America.
Instead of Britain... or British or Britain, it's Britain.
You pronounce it like that too.
So I don't think I'm offending you.
I don't think it's a speech impediment.
I think it's just like intellectual new way of pronouncing things that annoys the heck out of me as an ESL teacher.
Because I have friends, I have my students listening to shows, including yours, and they're asking me, how come he pronounces it that way? Can I pronounce it? No, I don't want you to pronounce it Latin.
It's not Aladdin America.
It's Latin America.
So why do you do that? Why do you pronounce the T's in the middle of words like D's? And I know this is like nitpicking because I know how I sound.
I know I'm nitpicking.
But I'm an Xer, kind of like on the cusp of X and boomer.
So maybe that might be it.
But I love your show.
Please don't get offended by what I'm saying.
But you do that.
But you're not the only one.
