I think a lot of what we see going on globally is a very deliberate move to undermine that right.

And so as we enter Rosh Hashanah, I've been asking, can we really pray in good faith that our curses turn into blessings? Can years of endless conflict between Israelis and Palestinians between Jews and non-Jews, inside our own Jewish tent, between Zionists and anti-Zionists, between Jewish parents and siblings and friends and cousins? Can this actually be resolved? Can we turn this destruction into something new, into something better? Well, I believe that it feels incumbent upon us as spiritual beings to work with all of our might to believe that the answer is yes.

That the answer is absolutely and unequivocally yes.

Because this tension, this conflict, this rupture, we're already feeling it.

No.

Again, see how easy it is to manipulate these people? All I got to do is invoke, I got new buzzwords, Zionism.

If you got a problem with me celebrating a foreign attack on America, well, then you must be a Zionist.

And these people are so afraid of being called a Zionist.

Because you're a Zionist.

Because Zionism is a political ideology as much as it is a psychological defect, a cognitive roadblock, where no matter what war crimes and horrors Israelis commit, you are bound to only ever seeing them as victims.

And so the singer who once stuck her neck out to protest imperial violence now thinks that the real victims of that violence are not the dead children nor the mothers of those children.

No, the real victims are the Zionist Ed Sheeran concert goers who had to endure the trauma of hearing Macklemore say free Palestine.
