This Wasn't On Our Radar... | Daily Syracuse News & Rumors

So Syracuse men's basketball, you know, years ago during their glory days and golden eras, one of which was not too, too long ago.

I would say 09 to 2014.

They had guys in the NBA.

Obviously, Carmelo was one of the leaders leading the way for Syracuse more recently.

We want to go back further.

But Syracuse only has one guy in the NBA right now, at least fully.

I'm not talking about G Leagues and all that stuff.

And he's from the DMV, my guy, Jeremy Graham.

And so Jeremy is playing for Memphis now.

Memphis, let me look up those stats here.

Where is it? So Memphis is playing tonight at home.

Where are they? Where is it? Utah at Memphis, 8 p.m.

Eastern Standard Time.

Season opener for both.

Okay, so like I said, Jeremy was traded, it was announced June, late June of this year, Memphis traded John Morant, who obviously has a lot of talent, but has had some other stuff over the years, for Jeremy, it was John Morant in exchange for Jeremy Grant and Chris Murray.

And so...

Grant, this is his 11th year or 12th year, son of Harvey Grant, nephew of Horace Grant, who won multiple championships.

He, last year, he was in Portland, averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 boards, 2.1 assists.

He shot 45% from three, 38.9% from, excuse me, from the field, 45.3, 38.9% from three, 81.4% from the free throw line.

He was drafted in the 2014 second round by Philly.

He's played for Philadelphia, OKC, Denver, Detroit, Portland, and now in Memphis.

His career average is 13.5 points, 3.9 boards, 1.6 assists.

one block per game, 44.9% from the field, 36.7% from three, which is pretty good, 75.9% from the free throw line.

And he's had some good seasons.

He's had one, two, three, three seasons averaging at least 20 points per game.
