But in fact, research shows that we also break our good habits in times of celebration.

A person is at a wedding, a New Year's Eve party, a celebration dinner for a promotion, and in that happy moment, they let down their guard or feel that the occasion has earned them an exception, and they break their good habit.

It's helpful to remember that if something is important to us, we need to pay attention in good times as well as bad.

Danger and temptation don't always appear when we expect.

I remember I used to perform on cruise ships as a c- stand-up comedian, and I remember I, I hated being out there during Christmas week because it was so, you know, either they would send relatives out there as, as quote-unquote cruise gifts, and they're out there by themselves, they were not happy.

Or then New Year's Eve crossover and things like that.

So there are certain periods, I guess you could say, or, or, or calendar moments that you have to be careful about w- especially during these high-functioning mo- Am I, am I wrong in saying that, or that's part of the process when you do your research?

Yeah.

She's diagnosable.

And, uh, if ever there's an event, including 9/11, she's going to make it about herself, all right? There's not gonna be a birthday party, a Christmas, a Thanksgiving, an Easter, a New Year's Eve, or a 9/11 that she doesn't make about herself.

A y- if you guys know a narcissist, you know their favorite thing, narcissist or borderline personality disorder, which she was a combo, combo platter of both, you know, you know a special occasion is their fucking Super Bowl.

She saw an opportunity.

Yeah, so definitely I ask my clients to look at their calendars and to literally plan out, carve out the joy.
