Thorin and YamatoCannon open on the LCS viewership spike and why nearly half of it came from one co-stream, then move through Jatt stepping back from the desk, Riot quietly killing LEC Versus, and…
That is fucking nuts, because K-Draw's core stream of the final was 131,000, almost 132,000 at its peak, which is basically almost half of that total number, obviously.
so the by the way here's what's silly about that it's actually why um i don't get why fly quests as we talked about on the episode why they apologized before the lower bracket match like here's what's silly about that to me about you know when people go why shouldn't it be a big deal now it's like well i'll tell you an obvious reason everyone missed which is another reason by the way why their viewership was probably high Because there's no more regions going right now.
All the major regions have finished.
So if you were a core streamer like Cajal, there's nothing left to watch.
Basically, that's the only league you can watch.
But if you're going to watch it anyway, and then FlyQuest is in the tournament, which they were in the upper bracket when they were playing Liquid, think it's actually a pretty good angle if you're a core streamer like wrestling you play with whatever narratives are there don't you so of course you're going to play with the idea of like these guys they're the ones who talk i mean a video so we're going to watch and we're going to hope that they lose here's what i find weird though is i actually if i'm fly quest i get that they don't want to be the bad guys like we were talking they don't want to be the healer but at the moment you are for this year Until this year ends, that's just going to be the case because people have to, like, forget about it and then go to next year.
And also Cato has to just get over it.
So the weirdest thing to me was, I actually think they apologised at the wrong time.
I actually think you could argue, once they've already fucked up, the best thing for them, here's the joke, Cato didn't punish them, Yamato.
He might have in terms of, like, public perception of them.
That's how you're punishing me.
You're not really punishing me by giving me the biggest viewership in the fucking league over like the teams that are winning the tournament.
Like, what are you talking about? Like, that's actually good for me in the short term.
And as I said on that episode, you can even argue once you've already fucked up and it's sort of like you've done the crime.
That would be even better.
Remember, you could still take those numbers to a sponsor and be like, look at the spike in viewership on our team.
There's a lot of interest from the community in our new roster and the rookies we brought.
You could actually sell that.
I know in the long term it wouldn't work, but I think it's sort of real.
So I wanted to ask what you thought of this, because here's the thing.
I'm not a hater.
