Ed Desser and John Kosner - Longtime Sports Media Executives

Let's take a look at our sports business headlines of the week.

Headline number one, the World Series.

And so far, the Brewers are a juggernaut.

First two games, pretty competitive.

Game three in Tampa, 10-1, not competitive.

A route early.

I think this is going to be a sweep.

This is bad news for the TV networks because the Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

Now you're looking at a sweep.

in the World Series.

I said before this, two small market teams, not a lot of household names on either team.

This might be the lowest rated World Series ever.

It's not a shot at the quality of baseball because the quality of baseball is very good.

But we just don't know the players on these teams.

And Griggs, I think it's going to be the lowest ratings ever.

I hate to say it for Major League Baseball and I hate to see it for Fox.

They've done a good job with the coverage.

It's just not... a big stage.

You know, this isn't the Dodgers.

It's not the Yankees.

I love the fact that we have two small market teams in there.

The Brewers fans are eviscerating merchandise right now.

So they've set the record for the most merchandise sold for a team in the world series already.

And we're only, you know, we're heading into game four.

They filled up their stadium in Milwaukee yesterday.
