Attics vs Basements

Hey, kids.

Quick question for you.

Where do you go to watch a show? What's the coolest place down below? Where can you store all your boxes? What about the next size and socks? What about when you're with...

So he gets real sweaty when your mom makes spaghetti So you have to help him cool, but you don't have a pool And your AC's not the best, but you are blessed With the greatest, the best, the baddest in the nest The coolest, most comfortable, never causes stress It's got everything and more It's its very own floor Great for birthdays Snuggle up with so days It's never bland Where you can even start a band.

And that's exactly what I did.

I started my very first band in a real live basement.

In fact, lots of world famous artists started in basements.

Like Nirvana, Prince, The Beatles, anyone.

If it weren't for basements, we might not have these life changing acts.

I mean, would we even have Cuckoo? Basements are also the perfect clubhouse for kids.

They can fit a pool table or a ping pong table or, you know, just a table table for doing crafts on, of course.

You can have a game room down there or even a toy room, even a bedroom.

Plus, the basement gives you a little privacy when you need it, you know.

How many times have you snuck downstairs to get away, then come upstairs and your parents are like, dare I say, happier to have gotten a break too? I mean, they need a little break as well.

Basement breaks help everyone.

A weather siren, storms are coming.

I guess I'll go chill in my awesome safe basement.

They're the first place you're supposed to head if there's a tornado because they're below ground.

So no flying branches, boards, or cows can hit you.

I wonder which room would be the most dangerous to be in a tornado.

Hmm, I wonder.

Probably the one that's literally high up in the air.

Exactly.

Also, basements stay naturally cool in the summer and warm in the winter thanks to being surrounded by insulating ground.

Free climate control? In this economy? Yes, please.
