Air conditioning

Everyone's afraid of what's new.

Uh, back then, it wasn't just cars with AC.

It was cars that didn't have power steering.

You know, s- everyone would shy away from a car that didn't have power steering.

Mm-hmm.

My audience is probably better.

I use ACV.

It can be unlimited.

Uh, if, if you're, uh, an HVAC tech, air conditioning in Texas, uh-

[laughs]

There's what? Six weeks we don't use our air conditioners [laughs]

So just drive, park in the shade.

Then wind up just on AC.

It's going to be a 10 minute conversation, so don't worry.

Then you make your call.

You see, you've wound up, put on AC, you know, comfortable environment, control the noise.

Then make sure you have a good headset.

So the guy could have gotten away with it if he was using all these headsets that have, um, I think you call it ANC or something like that.

I wish I could live in a house without air conditioning.

Unfortunately.

I need AC.

[laughs] Katie needs AC.

I, Katie needs AC.

I just need like ...

I love Katie more than anything.

So it didn't get nearly as hot.

We're also super lucky that our house is was built in the 50s and we have an addition and in the addition there's a separate ac unit and that didn't go out so it was just part of the house like the main living area and some of our like bedrooms this office that didn't have ac but like our bedroom did which is where she is her bassinet is and so we just kind of hung out in there all day on monday and then yesterday was tuesday and an ac tech came out like after 5 p.m and was able to fix it so we have ac again which is why i'm in a sweatshirt because now i It feels really cold to me inside.

But yeah, we went without AC for a little bit.

But thankfully, we got so lucky.

And like maybe the coolest day that we've had since summer started was on Monday when we didn't have AC all day long.

This happened to us too.

Did I tell you about this? No, that's right.

No. Yeah.

These might have resulted from our having in the steamy, hot, humid Indian summers to start trips wearing underwear, shorts, and a parachute.

And the reason why they had to strip themselves down is because the planes did not have AC.

no AC to combat the heat, and no heat to combat the cold.

And so they would start the trip stripped down, and then they went on, this pilot goes on, and then it says, as we got up to cruising altitude, finally, we had our winter uniforms on.

So imagine taking off, right? Just a T-shirt and perhaps, like he said, underwear.

We have two, we're fortunate, um, at an event out at 10, 10 smaller, uh, um, Motor Club, 1010s Motor Club, which was kind of their weekly Saturday, bring your car to Porsche.

And I took little Black Betty for some shakedown miles and running the electric AC and all that good stuff.

And that was a blast.

So I got to put, oh, I don't know, 50, 60 miles on that, getting ready for Target Carolina at the end of this month.

I chose a 968 Club Sport in Maritime Blue.

You could get them with AC.

If not, I would put air conditioning in them because that's, in my opinion, the only downside.

air-conditioned, those are usually the essential appliances.

So our average customer has one of these on their fridge and one in their office running maybe a window AC or Wi-Fi or maybe one in the den for their kids when the power goes out to keep them entertained and run the TV.

Really, it's so flexible and power needs are so idiosyncratic, it's hard to draw a clean circle around the average customer.

But I will say...

I want to go back to a thing that you just said about local area network because I feel like this is an important point.

There are times when we might be internet insecure but not power insecure.

In fact, I just had this happen with my smart HVAC system where the internet went out.

So I couldn't control it.

Is it one type of baggage tractor that has to work in salty snow and then pouring down rain and then also desert heat?

Yeah, no, I mean, you add AC to the trucks where it's really hot, the customer demands it, but, like, everything else, it's the same truck, same tires.
