Attica Region

If you want to hear more about that, I have a series called Myth Drop Legends, and the episode two of that on my YouTube is called Athena, which basically talks about the very short version and animated one of the story.

Long story short, They competed to become the city Attica's patron deity.

Because, well, Athens was an important settlement in the region of Attica.

And having a major city honor you was a pretty big deal for a Greek god.

So Poseidon and Athena entered a competition.

And olive cultivation became important to the region.

So the judges chose Athena.

And the city became known from Attica to Athens.

Brian went first last round, so Neil, please start us off.

The word attic comes from ancient Athens and the region of Attica.

Attics didn't always refer to a super special room right under the roof.

It just meant things from Athens.
