EP 10: Tim Neverett on Vin Scully, Shohei Ohtani & Life in MLB Broadcasting

One thing you mentioned earlier was we're going to start calling this the Euchre line, which I couldn't agree more.

I love it.

But one thing that would always bother me about baseball, it doesn't bother me, I just make fun of it, is that walk-up music for the players.

And I got a rule that I institute, and I've been saying it for years.

If you're not hitting 250, then you don't get walk-up music.

There's sashaying up to the plate.

They're batting about a buck-eighty.

And it bothers me.

You know, you didn't earn that walk-up music.

So can we talk about the evolution of walk-up music for a second?

Oh, yes.

Okay, so you

have walk-up music.

You have walk-out music for the pitchers.

And now there are certain hitters that I've noticed that will have a walk-up song, a different one for each at bat now.

So we're going to that.

Fortunately, we don't do it.

Well, we do do it.

We did it with a couple guys with the Dodgers.

I don't think this year we have it.

But I saw it in Milwaukee with a certain catcher in Milwaukee.

He's got a different song every at bat.

I'm like, what is this?

Yeah.

You know, I think I always thought you have to earn that.
