Shams tweeted yesterday, developing the Los Angeles Clippers Toronto Raptors trade centered on Kawhi Leonard will not be complete until the NBA investigation into the Clippers is over.

For the past 10 months, our organization has fully cooperated with the NBA investigation, participating in dozens of interviews, providing tens of thousands of documents, and facilitating access to our staff.

While the process has been challenging, we have remained committed to transparency.

On June 30th, we reached an agreement in principle to trade Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors.

We have since been informed that the trade can only be finalized if the Raptors' ownership group assumes the risk of penalties related to Kawhi's contract that could theoretically result from the ongoing investigation.

Why would that be the case? The investigation is ongoing and we expect the trade to be finalized following its conclusion.

I'm not saying it's true or false, but Joe Sandberg, who apparently is the founder and owner of aspiration was sentenced to 14 years in prison for a giant scam that he was running.

And so the Clippers are, they're either telling the truth that they also got stick, got scammed, or they are using that as an, an, an alibi or using that as a get out of jail free car.

So they said basically, like many sophisticated investors, financial institutions, and business partners, we were victims of a fraud initiated by Sandberg who had been convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

We remain confident that when the facts are evaluated, the NBA will confirm exactly what we have said from the beginning.

The thing that I really don't understand is, and call me stupid if you want to, if I really don't understand this, but how does somebody make a fake company and then pay Kawhi Leonard $20 million? And then, you know, it came out to like, there was no promotional material.
