Of course, now with IR and people being waived in Pacheco and Small respectively, we now only have three running backs on that roster.

Initially, no one was claimed on waivers and all Lions became free agents or practice squad eligible.

We then announced a 14 man practice squad, um, notable people who didn't make either the 53 man roster or the practice squad.

Initially, Greg Dortch, who went to Buffalo, Tyler Conklin, who has re-signed with the Lions and Eric Hunter, who was then signed to the Patriots 53 man roster.

I know that, uh, there's several people in the chat and at least one person on the show who's very sad about that but What a result for him in terms of what he put on film and got someone to believe in him enough to actually do that, especially a team that went as far as the Patriots did last year.

Elijah Klein signed with the Lions, the interior offensive lineman, formerly the Buccaneers.

It seems like it was roster shenanigans along with Small and McLaughlin who were waived.

They were put on the 53-man roster whilst injured so that they could get healthy, so they could be waived without having to wait to come back to the Lions squad.

Because there's a rule where if you're waived with an injury designation and then given an injury assessment, you have to wait three weeks more than the other 31 teams to re-sign to that team.

So the Lions effectively said to these people, We really want you on the practice squad, but to do that, we need to do this.
