Micah Parsons

Now they have Quentin Williams and Kenny Clark up front.

We're basically gonna see, Paul, did the Micah Parsons trade work out on Sunday? Because Jerry Jones is saying that we can stop the run now.

We used to not be able to do that.

And we know the offense is gonna be good.

They'd get blown out in the playoffs.

So I don't know about the playoffs.

It's gonna be interesting because the Micah Parsons trade will be talked about forever.

Yeah.

A- and if the Vikings can get a lead here on Sunday, the Vikings are small favorites right now in the sports books, they can get a lead and then in the second half grind down the Packers' front.

A Packers front that, of course, is without Micah Parsons.

On the other edge they had traded Rashan Gary, and in the middle the Packers signed Javon Hargrave, who was one of the worst run defenders I've seen for a Vikings interior defensive lineman in multiple years.

I, I think you're gonna be able to run the ball a little bit on the Packers on Sunday.

I'm just gonna go the offensive line as a whole dominating up front.

This is a Packers defensive line that cannot scare you whatsoever if you expect to take the leaps and bounds in the run game that you've been talking about all off-season long.

Again, they're missing Micah Parsons.

In games with Micah Parsons last year, I think they were averaging around 2.6 sacks a game.

Um, I don't want to say stability there, but we'll see how my, uh, Kyler Murray responds as a starting quarterback here under Kevin O'Connell after all his time, uh, early in his career with the Arizona Cardinals.

On the other side of things, uh, for the Packers, no Micah Parsons.

They're looking for him to possibly back, be back week five against his former team in the Dallas Cowboys, possibly week six here.

But a big, uh, matchup between these two divisional opponents an- for the NFC North bragging rights, uh, in week one here, Uncle Dave.

I would lay the money line.

Um, but I'm gonna buy the Vikings, uh, again this year, at least in this game.

I mean, no Micah Parsons is kind of a big deal.

Yeah.

A- and Gannon is...

You know, everyone's saying, "Well, you don't have Micah Parsons, you can't be a defense." Well, I don't know.

You know? Is Lucas Van Ness gonna step up here? This Denai Dennis Sutton man looked really good in the preseason.

And it, and, and, you know, you got Zaire Franklin in there calling the defense as opposed to Quay Walker, and you've got seven defensive linemen.

Mm-hmm

... game at the end of last season.

You know, we talk about, well, Micah Parsons down there, and they lost five games in a row.

Well, the last one was a, was a gimme.

You know, uh, one of them picked the Vikings in a blowout.

"Packers don't have anything defensively without Micah Parsons, and he's not coming back till game eight," and yada, yada, yada.

I just...

You know, uh, the only, the only saving grace that some of the prognosticators have is they still believe Jordan Love has the capability to have an MVP type of season, which would then save the Green Bay Packers.

Right.

So what would I like to see? We know Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, Tucker Kraft, Marshon Lloyd are, like, God help us all.

Those guys are gonna need to perform, Matthew Gold and Christian Watson, to cover while, while Micah Parsons is out.

And so week one, you can't make any declarative statements in week one in the NFL.

Two, we don't know what the defense is gonna be.

What is it gonna be without Micah Parsons? Are we gonna see what we saw last year in the, the, you know, the collapse of the five-game losing streak, where they just weren't able to get off the field in very key moments? And granted, you can throw out that Vikings game to a certain extent because that was a game in which, you know, they were just playing it to play it basically because they were just basically getting ready for, uh, the Bears, which really didn't turn out to be that great for them obviously.

So I don't know how good the defense is gonna be.

Therefore, this offense is going to have to be firing on all cylinders.

I don't really, I don't wanna get too far into that.

Uh, I wasn't the player that I wanted to be.

I didn't feel like I was, uh, the player I've been before when I stepped onto that field.

But, uh, you know, I gotta do what I, I can to, to get back to that.

And there's certainly some rumblings out there about Myles Garrett, the overall health.

I understand the sentiment there, but we just remove all of the nuance to the Green Bay Packers' end of the season.

No Tucker Kraft, no Zach Tom, dings and dents across the roster.

And oh yeah, the best defensive player in the conference then with, uh, Micah Parsons was out Uh, now of course, Myles Garrett's in the same conference.

And he puts together a defense that can be really productive and effective.

is even better without Micah Parsons for the first four games than what Jeff Halfley trotted out there.

And Tausch rightfully teases me.

I do like Jeff Halfley a lot.

I like him as a guy.

I do think that people have lost sight of how good they were defensively for the first year and two-thirds.

and then obviously without Wyatt, and then obviously without Micah Parsons, and then in that playoff game, I still maintain it was the first time all year where you watched and were like, God, Edger and Cooper is everywhere.

And then he got hurt.

They can get a lead.

And then in the second half, grind down the Packers front, a Packers front that, of course, is without Micah Parsons.
