Uh, right then, chaps, shall we dive into some headlines?

Let's do it.

Why not? Uh, right then, Nico time.

González joins with more to follow, Chris.

Yes, uh, Nico González has joined from Manchester City, Newcastle's most expensive signing of the summer window.

The first they've made intra-Premier League as well.

Around about 48 million pounds initially, rising to potentially 52, um, and yeah, he comes into midfield.

He's the player that, that Jaissle wanted.

Newcastle are also trying to sign a forward, at least i, in one position, and that will be, uh, could be, uh, Matheus Fernandes Pardo at Lille, although that's a very complicated deal and there are other irons in the fire.

Uh, Barnes and Buzz.

Baggies beaten, George.

Nice alliteration there.

Thank you very much.

Yes, Newcastle United's first victory of the season.

It's in the Carabao Cup.

They beat, uh, Championship West Bromwich Albion at home.

High-flying W- West Bromwich Albion.

Uh, they had to do it the, the hard way, conceding a penalty to Isak Price, but Tuanzebe and Barnes get Newcastle the win.

It's a good moment, some minutes for some, uh, a few of the other players, and yeah, they're into the next round where they will travel to Millwall.

Ooh, look forward to that one, Chris.

Ooh.

Uh, training ground location found, Chris Waugh.

Yes, we did a little insert into last week's main podcast because this just happened just as we were about to publish, but Newcastle United have secured the site that they want to build their new training ground on.

They hope to be in by the 2029/30 season.

It's gon- They're hoping to invest about 190 million pounds into a stadium they believe will be world-class, and it's at Wolsington Hall, close to Newcastle Airport, where a lot of the players live nearby, and it was also something Sir John Hall had purchased in '94 and initially had seen it was gonna be a- an academy for Newcastle players.
