Meanwhile, the Utah Department of Corrections has lifted a month-long partial lockdown across state prison facilities following an internal investigation into an inmate assault that seriously injured a correctional officer.

Now, the restrictions enacted back in late September had affected both the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City along with the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.

Now, lifting the lockdown restored standard daily operations at both facilities, including inmate visitation, recreation, educational programming and religious services.
