24 Team College Football Playoff: Is This Going Too Far?

🏈 **Is college football expanding its way into trouble?** College football is changing faster than ever. NIL, the transfer portal, revenue sharing, and now the possibility of a **24-team College Football Playoff** are reshaping everything we thought we knew about the sport. In Episode 14 of *Playbook Optional*, I'm joined by **Chris Gordy**, host of the *Locked On SEC* podcast and a familiar voice on Houston's SportsTalk 790, for a conversation about the state of college football at the midway point of the season. We dig into the biggest questions facing the sport: 🏆 **24-Team Playoff:** More opportunities for deserving programs, or the beginning of the end for meaningful regular-season games? 🏈 **Texas & Arch Manning:** What's gone wrong in Austin? Is Arch struggling because of his development, the coaching staff, or the expectations surrounding his name? 📉 **Texas A&M:** Why haven't the Aggies lived up to expectations, and how much responsibility falls on Mike Elko and his coaching decisions? 💰 **NIL & the Transfer Portal:** College football has more parity than ever, but what are we losing in the process? 📊 **Rankings & Playoff Selection:** Are the polls rewarding reputation over results? And should strength of schedule matter more? We also discuss Northwestern, the SEC's increasingly difficult schedule, the future of traditional rivalries, and which teams could make a run toward the national championship. College football has never been more unpredictable. But is that necessarily a good thing?
