Gordo and Sammy react to a very cold road trip for the Red Sox after another series loss this time in Pittsburgh. Where are things going wrong the most for the Sox and how do the newest batch of…
Okay, wait, what was it? The A's? Is it only three straight series losses? Feels like four.
Yep.
So they lost, uh, games two and three to the A's.
They lost three out of four to Toronto.
To the Jays.
And then they just lost two out of three to the Pirates.
So they're not, they're, I mean, they're not getting swept.
They're not playing well, but they're not getting walked all over.
I don't think anyone's panicking.
The teams behind them aren't really winning either.
They're just kind of at this stagnant point, but I'm totally cool with the stagnant point as long as guys get healthy and nobody else gets hurt.
Well, that's, that's the thing, is it, your, your level of frustration or panic or whatnot, it's all de- it's all, it's all relative.
Like if you're, if you're freaking out about the Red Sox maybe not making the playoffs, I'd say Wait on that a little bit.
If you're f- freaked out that the Red Sox are not playing well, they're not s- they, they've scored more than four runs just once in the stretch, and they're getting hurt, they're dropping like flies, like yeah, like that's my concern.
I'm definitely concerned about those things.
I'm definitely concerned...
Like, Masahiro Yoshida was one of the best hitters on this team for a month and a half, 900-ish OPS.
He goes down, and we can all get excited about Roman coming back, but if Roman comes back, the best thing he can do is basically just replace what you lost in Yoshida.
Duran stays in the lineup.
Like, that was the best thing about potentially getting Roman back, was that he was gonna replace the guy who's been we- weaving and, and bound or whatever over and under 200.
Like, that, and strikes out all these key spots.
Like, that's the guy that was gonna get replaced.
Now, that lineup spot's still there, and you're just hoping Roman can do even a little bit close to what Yoshida was doing.
So it's tough, 'cause the offense wasn't producing just as a whole.
