So both of us got to represent Pittsburgh in that 2001, uh, All-Star game, and it's, it's pretty cool.

I mean, you always y- you think about it as a kid, oh man, you know, you play All-Stars in, in Little League and stuff.

Obviously, Edwards has more speed.

But yeah, it was a little bit disappointing because this was a guy that we thought was a shoo-in for the All-Star game this year.

And... with the impact it was putting over the fence.

We had six home runs in the first two months of the season.

The meeting now with the umpires, who today are behind the plate, John "Red" Flaherty of the American League, at first base Augie Donatelli of the National League, at second base Bob Stewart of the American League, at third base the veteran Tom Gorman of the National League.

Along the left field line, as the lights have just been turned on here at overcast Kennedy Stadium, Marty Springstead of the American League, and for Marty, this is his first All-Star game and I'm sure quite a thrill.

And along the right field line is Tony Benson of the National League.

And the National League, of course, will bat first against Mel Stottlemyre.

We're in the second inning in the All-Star Game in Washington.

I don't believe too many people remember that Ernie Banks was an outstanding shortstop when he came up.

He was an All-Star shortstop, and I think you're right.

He's played first base so long, that's his position.

The city of Cincinnati and the state of Ohio hoping to get the all-star game here in 69.

They're hoping that they'll be able to play it in their brand new stadium, which will be located right near downtown Cincinnati.
