It is early morning here as we're recording in Australia, but we are very, very fortunate to have a special guest from the other side of the world and fresh out of what sounds like an incredibly busy clinic.
So we are very appreciative of our special guest, Dr. Narius Flores, who is the Associate Medical Director of the Cancer Care Access Programme.
and a thoracic medical oncologist at the Dana Pharma Brigham Cancer Centre, and also the head of the Flores Lab, which she founded in 2019, which focuses on lung cancer, social justice issues in medicine, and medical education.
We are so, so very fortunate that you gave us the time to come on our pokey little show.
And it is true, it was after a busy clinic, but I truly love my job, even when they're busy, because we're able to be here for our patients when they need us the most.
We always have like the origin story before we get into all the nitty gritty of, you know, all the incredible things like founding a lab that you've done.
And so we'd love to chat about, we sort of go early and then we sort of rock it up to, you know, your medical career.
But it's always interesting for our early career oncologists and even our trainees to understand your journey and love to talk about, you know, your childhood in Venezuela and how you kind of transitioned really to be such an incredible oncologist and medical practitioner in the US because that is quite a leap, you know, across countries, you know, training, retraining, all those sorts of things.
