Starting with the news from Thursday, Kyle Shanahan announced that free agent wide receiver signing Christian Kirk would officially have his practice window opened.

Uh, Kirk has not been a full participant in 49ers practice since the first day of training [chuckles] camp, all the way back in July.

Uh, this calf strain has really plagued Kirk, and it's fair to assume that there have been setbacks because he's been out since July, like I said.

But finally, seems like he could make his 49ers debut this Monday against the Commanders.

He is a great fit as a depth receiver, and in a situation like this where you need someone who can step in and play any receiver position you ask him to, he's a great fit, right? He's exactly what you need.

Uh, and with Mike Evans dealing with a little issue in practice, you couldn't pick a more perfect week for Christian Kirk to come back than this week, right? The Niners are so beat up at receiver.

They're gonna be missing Deebo, they're gonna be missing DeMarcus Robinson, they're gonna be missing Ricky Pearsall, they're gonna be missing Christian McCaffrey.

You really need Christian Kirk to show up, and it looks like he is ready to do so.

[lips smack] Uh, now looking at the injury report from Thursday, there were a couple guys who did not practice.

Um, Mike Evans didn't practice, uh, dealing with that rib injury, and then also had some Achilles soreness.

Not sure about the severity with that, but obviously you hear that A word, you hear Achilles, and you get a little concerned, right? So, uh, take it easy, Mike.

No need to, uh, rush back, right? Uh, and then Nick Bosa obviously not practicing.

Um, got that knee issue that, you know, his, his calf issue too that he's working back from.

Kyle did seem, you know, optimistic that Bosa might be able to play, uh, but of course, he's gonna have to practice if he's gonna play, right? Uh, and then kind of a weird one, Grayson Halton did not practice with a quad injury.

You really wanna see Grayson Halton, uh, make some, uh, you know, make some more plays and really start to build on the last couple of weeks for himself.

You had Christian Kirk, uh, the calf, um, limited, but, you know, trending in the right direction, right? Uh, but Colton McKivitz is sick.
