I know the Raiders did terrible in their preseason.

What do you think about their quarterback, though?

The Las Vegas Raiders are looking rough.

Well, they got Fernando Mendoza, but he's not starting.

They got Kirk Cousins starting.

So, uh, and then their ti- their star player, their best player, Brock Bowers, he just got announced he's gonna be out.

Wow.

Like, we were too low on this guy as a, as a passer.

Uh, the Raiders beat the Patriots in week one last year.

So just remember not to overreact too much to what goes on [laughs] in the season opener.

What fun game to play on Monday or Tuesday is, like, the thing that will look the least accurate in week 17 compared to where it's at right now?

... very weird outcomes.

I mean, we can even go back to last year and look at the fact that the Raiders beat the Patriots in week one, and how the rest of the season played out from there.

Weird things happen sometimes.

I just don't have a lot of confidence in the Commanders as they currently exist.

But if Harrison Smith plays two more years now, and this is the agreement, and, and he is still effective...

Dude, Ch- Charles Woodson was at 39 with the Oakland Raiders 10 years ago, was a second team all-pro in a Pro Bowl.

I can just hope that the Dolphins can get off to an inexplicable hot start like Hull City has.

Uh, what are you hoping for against the Raiders? What are you, what are, were you really hoping for? Realistically, what are you thinking is the bar here?

I mean, obviously you wanna win.

You, s- then you just kinda trickle down from there.

You wanna be competitive.

You don't wanna get blown out by Kirk Cousins and the Raiders, and no Brock Bowers.

Uh, mostly just, like, wanna see a team.

You know, they lost a lot of players.

But, I mean, I just gave you examples of Jags that are, like, big favorites in those games once they got rolling.

It wasn't.

Yeah, but I've kind of picked it up after Arizona where they got on a roll.

First of all, their next three games are games they'll be favored in and potentially touchdown favorites and a couple of them.

So, I mean, when you've got the Colts at home and then you travel to the Dolphins, the worst team in the league, and the Raiders, who are not a great team, I think – if you had the start of the season of the schedule that the broncos have for example where they play six great teams like the broncos need to win week one too because of what's waiting in the next five games the other reason i chose 2018 was because all we had on patrick holmes was one meaningless start in week 17 the only meaning that that game had was that patrick holmes was starting It was sort of the coming out for Patrick Mahomes in L.A. that day in 2018 to like, what is this guy really going to be? That's a great reason.

And sure, I think the teams, the players in the front office that had watched him practice every day knew.

The rest of the world didn't.

Bad matchup for the Broncos.

Boy, don't want to see them in the playoffs.

But anybody else, boy, they look good after crushing the Colts, Dolphins, and Raiders.

There'll be context to it.

And...

I mean, I don't wish for a player to play bad other than Raiders, Chiefs, and Chargers players.

But some of the Drake May hype was getting to levels beyond what I thought he actually was as a player.

And I don't think he'll have a season like he did last year.

It's easy to forget.

Week one seems to have the craziest wins.

You know, last year, the Raiders beating the Patriots in New England, if I remember right.

And, I mean, how does that happen? The worst team in football beating the – I'm not going to say they were the best team in the AFC because they were not.

They got a bunch of all pros.

And their schedule gets tougher at the end, but I mean, there's a lot of Cardinals, there's a lot of Commanders, Falcons, Raiders, Vikings, Giants.

I mean, Cardinals again, those are all teams that are supposed to finish at or near the bottom of their division.
