We’re back with another dose of Nintendo news, game impressions and discussion! ## Join us as we discuss: - Variable Refresh Rate update - Gen 3 Pokémon games on Switch rumors - Castlevania…
Our first news story is a software update for the Nintendo Switch 2, uh, finally adding variable refresh rate to the console while in docked mode.
F- for context, this was an advertised feature before launch, but they, like, removed it from the advertising right around the time the console actually came out.
I think we even talked about it on the podcast.
Uh, you do need to update the dock separately from the console for this to take full effect, so don't forget to do that.
I don't have a screen that can support variable refresh rate.
I don't know, have you tried anything like this?
this?No, 'cause it's also game-dependent.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, and I think one of the only games I know that is definitely, I gotta have it, is Ocarina of Time.
That's now, yeah.
[laughs]
Yeah.
Uh, I believe my TV is supportive of it, 'cause I do have a fancy recent, um, TV.
Uh, but I need to double-check.
And update your dock if you haven't already.
Yes.
Yes.
Well, I'm using a, I'm using a third-party dock right now.
[gasps] Blasphemy.
I don't believe the, the, the ones that I have do.
Um, 'cause I'm, I have the, the battle dock, you know, the one that lets you use your original GameCube controllers.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I don't think it, I don't think that has it.
