In Debt Up to Our Ears

All right, how many of you have ever been in debt? Yeah, I don't wanna ask how many of you are in debt, but have you ever been in debt? It's not fun, is it? It's one of those things that, you know, there's sometimes that you have to go into debt to be able to get credit, things like that, right? So it's what we would call a necessary evil in our world.

We're going to take a look this morning at really the heart of God.

in this particular sermon.

We're going to talk about how God feels about us and the effect that it had on Paul and actually the effect that it ought to have on all of us as well.

So I'd like you to turn in your Bibles to Romans chapter one, because we're going to pick up a little bit before where Elder Tony had shared.

So we're going to start at verse eight, Romans one, verse eight.

And we're going to look at Paul's experience, first of all, with the Roman church here, and then he's gonna describe to us something that he was trying desperately to help the Roman church to understand, and of course, you and I.

But before we go any further, let's go ahead and have another word of prayer.

Father in heaven, Lord, this morning as we bow our heads, We pray that you'll help us bow our hearts as well.

Because Lord, we've come here really not to listen to a preacher, but we've come to listen to you.

So Lord, we're asking you to hide the preacher and allow your word, your voice to be heard today.

We're asking you Lord to pour out your Holy Spirit upon us.

Because as we've learned in our Sabbath school lesson this week, that you give gifts to us.

And one of the gifts that we need today is the gift of hearing, the gift of understanding.

So bless us today, Lord, with that special gift of your spirit.

And Lord, while you're at it, touch these lips of mine that I might speak the words of life to my friends.
