Romans 5

Okay.

What you see in Romans 5.12 is death through sin came upon all people.

Here Paul makes two distinct qualifications.

It's the death you get through sin.

And he says death to all people.

He does not say death to all life.

He repeats that qualification throughout Romans 5 and again at 1 Corinthians 15.

So Adam's sin brought death to humanity.

And we have a hope that does not disappoint.

From Romans 5, not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings.

We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

And hope does not put us to shame.

How is one saved? Because if you, my contention, I think Ethan's contention is that you hate Christ if you are outside of Christ.

So like Romans 5 tells us that anyone who is not in Christ is an enemy of God, okay? So even if someone says with their mouth that they love Christ, if they are not in Christ, if they've not put their faith in Christ unto salvation, they are in fact an enemy of God.

There's only two categories, right? those under God's wrath and those under God's grace.

So how does one become a Christian? Because we want to know, how does one get

That why we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

You'll find that in Romans 5, verse 8.

That message is a message of love towards us, and it's the basis of the gospel.

It's the foundation of the gospel.

And our verse is Romans 5, verses 6 through 8.

That's where we began the program.

It's how Abraham and David were saved, he tells us, and how they were given a relationship with God and everlasting life.

The first half of Romans 5 then tells us about the blessings and benefits that come into our lives with justification, and the last half of the chapter opens a new explanatory paradigm that the whole human race is divided into only two families, the family of Adam or the family of Christ.

Chapter 6 tells us that when we pass from the family of Adam into the family of Christ, by grace and through faith, we are no longer living in the realm of sin.

We are no longer slaves to sin.
