Even before he did anything at Villanova, my friend was raving about how he was as a leader, as a player.

And I just like brushed it all off because you know how we are in college where we hype up our high school heroes.

And then after that, he won two championships at Villanova, beat Kansas a couple times, which sucked.

but when we drafted him i was super hyped because i kind of knew like the type of person he was and never thought he was going to be that good obviously like i don't think anyone did i don't ever think rick brunson thought he was going to be that good um but when we drafted him i was hyped many moons ago what 2018 um thought it was a great pick never thought it was going to be like that obviously and then when we lost him sucks like you said we've it's been hashed out at this point um But I'm not surprised to see him win a championship, to be honest with you.

Maybe I'm a little surprised that he was the 1A with the defensive anchor like Cat.

But at this point, he's been quieting the doubters at every level of basketball, high school, college, NBA.

Yeah, I mean, I was personally very surprised in 2018 when he was available in the second round and we picked him.

But when the Mavericks picked him and they were reading out his accomplishments, I mean, he was the Naismith Player of the Year, a two-time national champion.

And obviously I could have never imagined him to turn into the superstar that now people are saying is better than James Harden and Luca and all of that and comparing him to Kobe.

I'm not sure I'm going that far yet, but there's no doubt that he has become an NBA legend, especially in New York.

No, I mean, New York sports is kind of like a different stage compared to everywhere else in the country.

Even in LA, I would put New York sports top number one in terms of the spotlight and all that.

They have other stars in that city, but he is the king of New York, which might be a bigger deal than whatever placement he's going to be on these all-time player lists.
