But since that was a lot of negative, I would like to bring it back to some positive before we get out of here, at least before KG takes over.

Um, so I wanted to look up Derrick Lively's 2024 postseason run versus Tyson Chandler's 2011 postseason run, just compare some advanced stats.

Just like, how close was he to like one of the greatest, you know, defensive center postseason runs, you know, of the last 25 years? So in that run, Tyson Chandler was the, was the, was [laughs] in the 99th percentile for defensive plus minus in that 2011 playoff run.

[laughs] So like absolutely just historic defensive versatility in guarding the rim back then.

Different NBA, but at the guarding the rim, he was as good as it got in that postseason run.

But Derrick Lively as a rookie, by the way, Tyson Chandler had been in the league for years, played with Chris Paul and other good players.

Rookie Derrick Lively, 85th percentile, everybody.

In an NBA where you have to switch, you have to, centers have to guard guards, you have to have rim protection, and he, he played about 200 minutes less than Tyson Chandler, who was the, you know, full-time starter.

I didn't think too deeply about this in the moment, so I'm going to try and ramble my way through this.

The closest comps that I can come up with for Walker Kessler, and they're all going to be former Lakers, although in their prime they weren't known for being Lakers, but the three comps that I would sort of link up to Walker Kessler are, would be number one, Tyson Chandler, number two, Roy Hibbert, and number three, Andrew Bynum.

Now, these are not apples to apples comparisons, but I think he's a fusion of all three players.

So let me try and explain.

Obviously, he would hope to aim higher than a Roy Hibbert comp, but if his floor is Roy Hibbert, I think we're working with something.

The things where I think Walker Kessler differ would be in his foot speed and mobility.

I think he's a lot less clunky than Roy Hibbert, and that's where Tyson Chandler comes in.

While Walker Kessler is not as explosive or athletic as Tyson Chandler, I think he does have some of Tyson Chandler's motor and his ability to run up and down the floor.
