So I was actually pretty excited to see the Dom Pure rise again to a degree when they brought the updated playable species into the 2024 5.5 edition.

The Dom Pure was first kind of introduced, I believe, back in the third edition as just kind of a creature stat block, not necessarily as a playable species.

I've played it, but I haven't gotten past the Goblin Camp, because I keep dying and it pisses me off.

I've built three characters, and then I have a podcast I need to work on, so that never

There's so many people around me that played it that I didn't feel like I had to.

I just feel like I had so much introduction to it that I just didn't need to do it myself.

Anyways, so the dump here was brought back in Asterion's Book of Hunger, which, again, was very much on the coattails of the popular Baldur's Gate 3 expedition, so...

Alright, so at the end of the day, what is the Dampyr and what makes them so damn popular? So, well, they are living humanoids who carry just an ounce of vampiric power.

This can be the result of pretty much anything, like the classic curse or a bite, not quite finished, or my fave can be a pact made with an entity, which of course is my favorite way, because we love a bargain and we love a cult.

But of course, it can be as simple as being the offspring of a vampiric bloodline and, you know, like, baby, we're just going this way.
