Unpacking more Michigan football madness

Welcome to another episode of Hail Yes, a Michigan football and basketball podcast by the Detroit Free Press.

I'm Andrew Burkle, joined by Tony Garcia for a special second edition of Hail Yes this week.

We just simply had to go live after the last game.

I think you guys can probably figure out why.

And then for the second episode this week, we had Tony on the brand new Freep Sports Show, hosted by yours truly and Sean Windsor, where we're covering all the major Detroit teams, plus Michigan, plus Michigan State.

obviously Michigan is one of the biggest stories, not just in this market, but in the country right now.

So I had to go back into that with the Oklahoma game this weekend.

Tony joined us for that.

We already recorded that, but we had to come back with our picks as well, right? Especially because you went 2-0 and you want to keep that hot streak going.

But I do want to remind you that even if you rack up 14 wins in a row.

I mean, I don't know how many would have to be before I'd feel good about you finishing the season with a winning record after your tank job at the end of last season.

It was actually the last two seasons.

I think two seasons ago, I was like 12 over going into the last week, and then I went 0-5 in the last week.

So still 7 over.

It was still good, but a bad taste in my mouth.

And then, yeah, last year, it got up.

It was like 19-9 at some point.

and then finished like five or six games under .500.

I mean, it was just a dreadful back half of the year.

So, yeah, but hey, can't go undefeated if you don't win the first two.

So here we go.
