Michigan football depth chart: Names you need to know

[upbeat music] Welcome back to another live episode of Hail Yes, a Michigan football and basketball podcast by the Detroit Free Press.

I'm Andrew Berkel, of course, joined by our Michigan beat writer, Tony Garcia.

Tony, thanks for joining us, man.

Uh, getting closer and closer to the season.

Uh, about s- a little over three weeks from kickoff, man.

I can't believe how fast it's coming.

Yeah, it was really starting to feel like, uh, football this week, just a Monday press conference with the head coach.

Pads have been on, right? And some of the, like, we've already met with the coordinators.

We're starting to get some information trickling in, feeling like we're getting a better sense of just what this staff thinks about what they have, and it's, uh, I mean, it, it's around the corner.

I think they scrimmage, uh, I think it's this weekend.

Uh, they'll have two scrimmages in the next, like, 15, couple days, couple weeks, and by the end of that second scrimmage, they're hoping to have a really good idea of who, uh, they think are going to be the starters going to that game week against Western Michigan.

So I mean, it will...

It's already here, but it will really be here, uh, before we know it.

We're just over 19 days away from the, the Monday of game week.

So it's, uh, it's that time.

Yeah, it's all happening very fast.
