Ep. 355 - True to Form

I mean, think about this, Nick, this weekend.

Again, it wasn't the prettiest baseball you've ever seen, especially offensively.

No, it was not.

We're going to break that down.

Saturday was quite a downer.

I'm sure you have thoughts on runners in scoring position that you'd like to discuss today.

But just think about how miraculous this is.

Again, sports fans, we say this all the time.

You and I say this stuff all the time.

I mean, what would you have said if I went back in time at the beginning of the season and we'd be in first place and we'd be winning a series against the Mets where Jake Rogers and Tristan Peters are hitting walk-off home runs in a series? I mean, this is insanity.

Yeah, it really is.

It's, you know, we talk about that synergy or that chemistry or the stuff that you can't quantify.

And in any year, I feel like a successful year would, you know, football, basketball, baseball, what have you, you can put those teams together on paper, right? That makes so much sense.

And this is how the lineup's gonna go.

These are my starting five.

I don't see any holes.

How can things go wrong? But you know, you just know there are guys that you picked up, reclamation projects.

It hasn't really worked for the Sox over the last few years, but you pick up these guys, you find these guys to give them new life.

You know, you got to have the sixth man.

You have to have folks off the bench, late game replacements, and everything.

I want to talk a little bit more about that maybe after we kind of break down the weekend a bit and maybe even the Cubs series.

you know, what gets is done well and what is not gone well, uh, forgets, uh, because man, Tristan Peters, like where would we be without that guy? You know, uh, he is, he just keeps getting the job done.
