When was the last time that somebody told you to do something and you were like, "Yeah, I'll do that," and you didn't respond with, "Okay, well now I actually wanna do that even less"? There's even a name for this, psychological reactance.

We perceive being told what to do as a threat to our autonomy, and then we don't wanna do it.

So throughout all the noise, how can we actually find advice worth listening to from someone who makes us actually want to listen? That is why I turned to my dear new friend, John Paul Brammer, who has built his entire career around giving advice to people.
