The whole purpose of this series, the whole purpose of Fierce Marriage is to be that voice in your ear.
What do I mean by that? You'll hear us say this throughout the series for the next s- uh, eight episodes, is that you cannot be living out through these hard issues, and it's inevitable that you will face hard issues, if you pretend as if God's plan doesn't matter in a meaningful way.
He was raised again and ascended, but when He ascended, He said, "I'm sending my Spirit now-
... to continue this work through these apostles." And He equipped them by His Spirit, and, and Pentecost is, is how that was kind of ignited, that wildfire took shape.
And so if we live as if we can just be aside from that plan of God, Christ building His church through the Spirit, it's gonna wreak havoc in our lives.
We're here to remind you continually that God's Word is good, it's true, He has a plan, [laughs] and He has instituted, instituted that plan through the church, and He also has given hu- husbands and wives strong directives for how to flourish in marriage in light of being sinners saved by grace and walking that out in real, tangible ways.
Right, and y- a l- I would categorize all of these plagues as having to do with authority-
We've talked about this beforehand, and how there's this, this dance of submission and authority, right? And how are we submitting to the authority? Are we submitting to the authority? Is the authority even in our lives? Because-
... you know, as you'll hear today, some of these questions and, and things that are sent, themes that have bubbled to the top are, are questions that really h- boil down to: Who is the governing authority in your marriage? Or y- you know, we hear people say, "I've tried this.
