Let's start out from there.

It says, Word to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, And I need you to notice, he didn't say that children cannot be kings.

But he says, What to thee, O land, when thy king is a child? Look at what he says next.

He says, And thy princes eat in the morning.

We are talking today about the King James Version of the Bible, and there's actually a very strong community of people who believe that the King James Version is in fact the only authoritative biblical translation.

So people believe very, very deeply that the KJV is the inspired Word of God.

Can you explain why that is?

It is a bit of a puzzle that even today among well-educated people, people who've been to college and whatever, well-educated people who know something about history, some think of the King James as the inspired Word of God, like the words of the King James.

And if you know anything about history, it's really hard to explain that.

Because, you know, the King James came into existence at a certain time.

You have the last 12 verses of Mark, where Jesus says that his followers will be able to drink poison and handle deadly snakes.

That's not originally in the Gospel of Mark, but it was in the manuscript used by Erasmus.

Okay.

Okay, so you had moments where the Word began to come alive in you.

You had moments where confession, you were really convicted to confess, and you felt the freedom that came from confession.

God's beginning to tell you in His Word and speak into you.

You're hungry for more of His Word, and that's got you in this place of consuming content about God.

essentially the more of god you're you're diving into baptism of the holy spirit type stuff because you want it you know you've said prayers a few times and i mean you're still hungry but nothing's really happening that sort of thing until this this like one night and this is a video you're watching right

So I'll start here.

I have a chapter called The Words of Worship, where I look at two key words for worship in the Old Testament and two key words in the New Testament.

And I won't get into all the Greek and Hebrew in the moment.

But what I will say is this, one of those words in the Old Testament and one of those words in the New Testament means to bow.

I'm still adding to it.

That's why it's still in the Word format, but it will be made much more professional.

But you can see here, just the opening, I delineate some of the important distinctions between Judaism and Orthodox Christianity.

Because Judaism is one of the unique ones when you actually teach an introduction to world religions for a few reasons.

And Wigglesworth always insisted on dividing his honorarium in half, giving half to the young missionary and keeping only half to himself.

He was a man who discovered the truth of God's Word.

Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure heaped, running over, and men shall heap into your bosom.

He sought the Lord, and he put the Kingdom of God first.

By faith we enter into the knowledge of the attributes, we partake of the Beatitudes, and we become participators in the glories of our Ascended Lord.

And this series is planned and prayed over that by the grace of God we all may move into that realm of faith.

As I talk tonight about Smith Wigglesworth, man of one book and apostle of faith, I believe you'll be hearing something that if you will follow you will discover it will bring you into a new place of faith and in that place you will see God working in ways you have never seen before now you couldn't be with Wigglesworth very long before you discover two things he had an overmastering love for the Word of God he had an absolute confidence in the God of the Word and as we talk about him as a man of one book you will see his love for the word as we talk about him as the apostle of faith you will discover his absolute confidence in god man of one book that was a phrase i think it was first used by john wesley and i came across his diary his journal and i was thrilled to read this this is what john wesley said i want to know one thing the way to heaven how to land safe on that happy shore god himself condescended to teach us the way for this very end he came down from heaven he hath written it down in a book oh give me that book at any price give me the book of god i have it Here is knowledge enough.

Let me be a man of one book." Now Wigglesworth and Wesley were poles apart in education.

He breathed it out.

And He never, ever works in an irrational, mystical vacuum independent of His Word.

He's tethered to the text.

He works through, with, and by the objective, revealed truth of the Holy Scriptures.

If you want to be filled with the Spirit, you don't chase a feeling.

You saturate your mind with the Word of God until it shapes every thought and reaction.

And what I love about this is that when that saturation happens, when the word truly takes up residence in the mind, Paul says it immediately goes horizontal.

It spills over.
