TIFF 2026: Toronto International Film Festival Recap

uh i cannot i generally cannot believe i went from being scared to watch horror films to watching my first horror film which was friday the 13th talking about horror movies in my bedroom to now working the red carpet and having and seeing finally on the big screen a new friday 13 property after 17 years and let me tell you y'all brad the entire are

we ready for it

this might actually be the first i honestly i've been saving when to use that catchphrase you're not ready for this because i low-key kind of feel for the friday 13 fans they might not actually be ready for this oh god i just kind of cringe just saying it right

it's okay i maybe i led you into

it it's

not it's not

time to use it it's not

it's It's well-established.

This is your favorite franchise.

What did they do that you hadn't seen done before?

they are expanding upon the actual world of Crystal Lake and the actual town of Crystal Lake.

And I think that that's what I'm enjoying the most because so much of the films were a pigeonhole to the convenience of slashers and having to be a horror film that we're not really getting to see the world outside of the camp and how people in the town operate in.

And I absolutely love that.

And I generally think it's it's from the showrunner of it.

Welcome to Derry.

So it has that level of grandiose with the scale of it all.

And but it has those while

still being a personal story.

While being a personal story and while also having the nostalgia bait that you want this to have.

I'm telling you, maybe you actually aren't ready for the title cards that are in this show.

I don't know if

any of them are going to have a better opening credit sequence than the remake.

I still think that's one of the coolest...

Okay, if it's up

there.
