Their new coach, Ben Johnson, whose first year was last year, um, has this team just humming at a high level.

It, it always has been the Bears, and this, these last couple years, there's been just, like, genuine hope and promise and excitement, and, uh, Ben Johnson has people believing.

The last two games The Bears have looked quite impressive, especially since Caleb Williams has been out, uh, with an injury, and the two backups, Case Keenum, um, two weeks ago, and then this last week, um, Bagent.

And the running game has looked dominant and commanding, and the defense has looked, uh, it's, like, sort of operating as a typical Bears defense.

I know it's not anything new, um, but it's-- I, I-- for some reason, I've just been impressed, um, with the start of football season at how fast these, these professional athletes who are football players are.

The Bears have, um, a couple of running backs that are sort of short and powerful.

And, um, yeah, yesterday, Steve and I were texting back and forth about just the raft of injuries in the first couple weeks of this NFL season.

These guys are so fast and so quick and so big and powerful, and these collisions are just bone-rattling and so violent.

And with everything that the NFL has tried to do, you know, to increase player safety and all that, um, it-- there's no getting away from the fact that these are highly tuned athletes that are, that are incredible in their skillfulness and their speed and their power and their strength.

If you read about the history of football, especially Ijeoma Oluo's chapter in her book, Mediocre, where she talks about the history of football and this design for violence to, to sort of, um, yeah, to sort of, uh, inculturate young men into physical violence.
