A- A- Alan, I thought this was interesting from Mike Brown yesterday.

I don't have the sound of it, but, um, he spoke to the media after practice yesterday.

He told...

He said that, uh, he took the five starters, set them aside, and then everybody else on the bench and in the seats said, "You're either fighting for playing time or fighting for a job." I kind of like that.

Wow.

Yeah, now this follows up with what he did after the, the, uh, preseason opener in Philly, where, you know, we don't pay attention to final scores in preseason games 'cause they don't matter.

'Cause you don't know who's playing in the second half anyway.

But he was more about the first half, and he wasn't happy what he kept saying, the physicality.

That we weren't boxing out, we weren't playing physical defense.

Like, this is not who we are, and we need to get back to it.

Um, and then he has a practice that he didn't like, and he made it a point, like you said, he took, he took the five guys that we all know, pushed them, put them over here, and he goes, "Them, they'll, they'll make a mistake in a game."

They're good.

[laughs]

"They'll maybe not play." They're gonna keep playing.

Yeah.

Like, that's not gonna change.

The rest of you, you're all fighting for something.

Yeah.

You're fighting for minutes.

You're fighting for a role in rotation.

You're fighting just to get on the damn roster, or you're fighting to be in the organization in some way, maybe in our G League.

Like, everybody here's fighting for something, and I'm not seeing enough fight.

And you know what? When you're defending a title, and you come back, and everybody's still sort of, like, a little sunburned and a little still maybe groggy from the hangover, he's trying to wake everybody up going, "Teams are coming to, coming after us."

No, that's great.

"And in two weeks it starts, so let's get, let's get our heads right." I thought it's a, it's the right approach for Mike Brown.
