The Believer’s Weapon Of Worship

If you've got your Bible on Apple or Spotify, you're going to need it because we're going to ask you to turn to John chapter 4.

I'll paraphrase most of this, but then I want to home in on a particular passage.

This entire passage right here of John chapter four, this chapter is talking about the Samaritan woman who is there at this well known as Jacob's well.

She's drawing.

She goes there.

She brings her bucket to draw water.

And of course, this is where she has an encounter with Yeshua, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the son of God.

And they have this whole dialogue and Jesus, now I'm going to use a term here called, he reads her mail, which is he's prophesying to her because he's, after all, he's the son of man.

He's Christ.

He's the Messiah.

He prophesies to her, tells her that she's had multiple husbands and the one she's living with now is not even her husband.

And so she's so moved by this.

I mean, she's stunned by all this information that he's sharing with her.

But I'm going to go down here to right here.

John 4, verse 21.

I want you to hear what Jesus says.

Jesus says unto this woman, Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.

You worship what you do not know.

We know what we worship.

Now notice he's making a distinction between Samaritans and Jews.

You worship what you don't know.

We'll elaborate a little bit more on that.

We know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews.

Remember, Jesus was first sent to what? The house of Israel.

The gospel was first sent to the Jews, but the Jews rejected it.
