Faith.

Faith? Faith is something that's gonna happen to you.

Wait, what did I say? You said they're showing their faith in us.

Faith.

I said faith.

And frankly, all faith is is reaching out and taking what somebody is giving you, and accepting it, receiving it, if, if, if you will.

So, you know [laughs] when somebody gives you a gift, you receive it, you know? By faith we receive that gift.

Faith is giving up on trying to do things ourself and letting God give us what only He can provide.

And salvation is something that only He can accomplish.

And faith is the process of just frankly giving up on me trying to accomplish that very thing and saying, "You know what, God? It's you or nothing.

Uh-huh.

Wherever we find faith, there is no law.

Now, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Verse 2, "For by it, the elders obtained a good report." Verse 3, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were made of things which do appear." Next verse.

"By faith Abel..." By faith Abel, which means Abel was not under the law, because the law is not of faith.

So if Abel by faith, it means there was no law when Abel operated, because anywhere there is law, there is no faith, and anywhere there is faith, there is no law.

Now, did you observe something? That the faith of Moses only took them to cross the Red Sea.

From after the crossing of the Red Sea, you will not hear of any event again until Rahab, walls of Jericho.

So what happened between the crossing of the Red Sea and the Promised Land? Faithlessness.

And then I was like, "Bro, these people have these lives." And like for them, this religion is so important, brother.

Faith is the only thing they have.

Yeah, yeah.

Hmm.

Will you trust God or trust somebody else? Fear says, look at the circumstances.

Faith says, look at the Lord as revealed in His Word.

And God's answer to our fears is found in Christ alone.

Jesus is God Emmanuel.

Such a man, being without faith and without self-government, is incapable of the right government of his affairs, and is a slave to circumstances, in reality a slave to himself.

Such are taught by affliction, and ultimately pass from weakness to strength by the stress of bitter experience.

Faith and purpose constitute the motive power of life.

There is nothing that a strong faith and an unflinching purpose may not accomplish.

By the daily exercise of silent faith, the thought forces are gathered together and by the daily strengthening of silent purpose, those forces are directed toward the object of accomplishment.

And many perils will pass it by, which would otherwise attack it.

By the power of faith, every enduring work is accomplished.

Faith in the Supreme, faith in the overruling law, faith in your work, and in your power to accomplish that work.

The secret society onslaught on the attachment of the people of Ireland to their spiritual guides and to their ancient faith was treacherous, deadly, and long continued.

Faith and virtue were alone weak and faint in that soul that could so ill do without them.

But, to her, they were the one essential thing.

The rest did not matter.

Right? It almost goes identical to Paul's list in, in Galatians chapter 5.

And Peter, he's saying, "Okay, now that you have faith, faith is not the end of it.

Faith is the beginning.

So now you can use that faith to add things to your life, and you can add, and you can begin to grow in the fruit." It says verse eight.

It says, "For if these things are yours and abound, you will neither be" what? "Barren nor" what? "Unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." So now can-- is it possible to have the knowledge of the Lord but still be barren and unfruitful? Apparently it is, right? He says here that if-- but he, he's, he's, he lists all these things and he says, "If these are yours and they abound in you." He's talking about the fruit of the Spirit.
