New Covenant

So the Lord said to Moses, say to the Israelites, any man or woman, and this is such an important phrase right here, any man or woman who wrongs another person in any way, is guilty, I skipped a part, we're gonna come back to it, is guilty and must confess the sin they have committed.

Now, the reason I wanna pause on this statement, by the way, in the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, this is the definition of sin.

This is what a sin is.

Anytime you wrong another person in any way, that is a sin, whether it's on a sin list or not.

If it's not good for you, no can do, okay? Because anything that harms another person is a sin.

That's what sin is.

And so even in the Old Covenant and New Covenant, it's all the same, but I skipped a part.

Here's the part I skipped.

So I want to talk a little bit about prophecy.

And last week, I talked about the difference between the Old and New Covenant.

By the way, if you didn't get that message, this message is not going to make as much sense.

Well, let me say it differently.

It has a whole nother layer that I laid a foundation and some of what I'm gonna say today, you're gonna be like, why didn't he talk about this? And how come he didn't talk about the Old Testament prophets? We did all that in the last session.

And we spent almost 35 minutes talking about the difference between the Old and New Covenant.

So Paul said this in 1 Corinthians 14, verse three.

He said, he who prophesies speaks for edification, exhortation, and consolation.

The word testament is an Old English word for covenant.

And so it's the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

And within that, there are many, many sub-covenants.

A covenant, well, that is...

hello everyone so we're talking about the new covenant and this topic is a subtopic under the inward witness which we started in the last episode the inward witness so in our last episode we said that the inward witness In our last episode, we said that's In our last episode, we said that the voice of the new man is called the inward witness.

The voice of the conscience of the new man is the inward witness.

And we said that the inward witness, what it does is to bear witness.

Okay.

So now we also said that the reason why it is possible for the inward witness, your inward witness to actually bear witness with the Lord, with the word of God and with the Holy Spirit and have joint testimony and have co-perception with the spirit of God.

This is only possible because of the establishment of the new covenant, because the new covenant took away the sin nature and gave us the Holy Spirit.

And because of that, now our spirit man is now equipped to With a new co-perception, right? So Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 33 is our anchor scripture for this topic in that verse of scripture.

Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 33 is actually a part of a prophecy given.

Everything was external.

I think this is the biggest thing that I see of the new covenant.

Now, there are other things, too.

We've got a different high priest.

It comes out of him.

Streams, rivers of living water will flow from within him.

Do you see the connection? Whatever types and shadows and all that stuff that we see in the Old Testament, it's speaking to what's coming in the new covenant in Christ.

And he's saying these living waters, not stagnant waters, not dead water, but living water flows out of him.

No, God was choosing to dwell amongst his people, and so he wasn't receiving the blood sacrifice as a favor to him that the blood sacrifices were offered.

By the way, even in the New Covenant, we offer blood sacrifice as a necessary aspect of the natural law elevated into the supernatural that is culminated in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

And so the Eucharist is the new and eternal blood sacrifice.

I share this because that gives us context for what's happening in the Old Testament.

So whenever the glory of the Lord appeared, when the glory of the Lord wanted to manifest just a little in the life of Israel, he would veil himself with clouds.

And so that language of the Shekinah glory cloud of the old covenant, we no longer need that.

We no longer have that in the new covenant.

Because God himself has come and taken on human nature.

And so from the very beginning, God has wanted to bring in all the nations.

And he's also wanted to give the fullness of the new covenant from the very beginning.

But we were not yet prepared.

St. Paul discusses in Galatians how we were under the elements of the world.

Then he brought the old law to form the people of Israel.

So that way through them he could bring forth Christ.

And then from Christ establish the church and bring all of the nations in in the new covenant.
