Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. This week we sat down with Pastor Tim Jacobs of Mountain Life Church. We…
Yeah, I mean...
As you said, I mean, schools teach, I mean, what nihilism and just a kind of distance from God.
Yeah.
But do you believe and it's a controversial topic that religion should be kept out of schools to not force upon anybody.
What do you think that you think that Christianity and religious teaching should be taught
The very reason we're able to have a conversation like this, the very reason you go to a school that has technology, has a system of basically egalitarianism regarding men and women can have a job together, to work, to use their gifts, to be able to aspire to greater things.
All of that comes from what we might call a Judeo-Christian framework, right? The problem is we take for granted the fact that, you know, how did we get here? We don't even bother to figure it out.
So is it necessary for a teacher to get up and say, you must believe the Bible or else? No.
We say we can have any other religious text and you're not going to mess with the Koran.
You might even say the Bible is a work of literature, but we're still not going to read it because we're not supposed to read it.
But when you throw it out, you're throwing out the thing that built Western civilization.
see we have to remember if we didn't have things like in you know individual rights or the dignity of the individual life liberty the pursuit of happiness where does that come from the declaration of independence that god creates us equal that we have value not for what we can do but just the fact that we exist right the very fact that you exist and you're made in god's image means you have value so now what we're seeing is we throw god out now you have you have like in canada and other places Well, you know what? You're of no real utility anymore, right? Your value, your health is so bad, you're really old.
Why don't you just do the whole place a favor and check out? Why? Because value, we don't know where the value comes from.
Yeah, I mean...
