Wicca

Um, and I mean, 'cause I, I also, like, I, I practice witchcraft and, and things like that.

I'm, uh, Wiccan.

And so I had to kind of come out with that too.

Um, but I honestly, I went to the Hinsdale House, and it was just kind of like a, a Halloween-type thing.

But I think what he represents is a figure a little bit more directly in correlation to – I forget the name of the specific, but I'll look into it and reference back to it at some point.

But still, what I do think is interesting is that you have these neo-pagan traditions that have incorporated many of these principles in honor of the green man, right? With the modern paganism and the Wicca tradition as well.

And you have basically, again, this being a direct reference to the divine masculine.

So I do think that's interesting.

And so if a woman weighs the same as a duck, then she's made of wood and therefore a witch, right? They're kind of making fun of this Uh, it's kind of a kind of sophistry, but it is this sort of, we're, we're going to figure it out via logic and reasoning and know who is a witch.

Now, where did the witches go? EJ asked.

Well, I don't, I don't know if witches are real, but there is the modern Wiccan movement, right? And there's a way in which women were the primary target of the witch craze.

Maybe 80% of those who were killed were women.

And so it's interesting to see in the modern age, women flip the script.

Margaret Murray's got the book The Witch Cult in Western Europe, 1921, sort of claims to sort of figure out who was doing what and when.

And then Gerald Gardner's Witchcraft Today, published in the 1950s.

And that leads to the kind of neo-pagan Wiccan movement.

The methods I used were quite pagan in nature.

Um, I was a practicing Wiccan for a while.

I dabbled in room stones and terror cards and things like that.

And all of those are supposed to be able to put you in touch with a power greater than you, but it wasn't enough to stop me drinking.

So it's not, it wasn't until like when I was an adult, when I found this term and when I was already like practicing witchcraft and reading the tarot, that I was like, I think that this is more...

I never felt comfortable, maybe a little bit interested at first, but quickly disenchanted with Wicca and traditional paganism, things like that, or even what we call folk witchcraft or some traditions of Mexican brujería that are very intertwined with Catholic practices, I have completely isolated myself from that aspect of, you know, any type of magical witchcraft practice that kind of like incorporates Christian, Catholic elements, because I'm intentionally not incorporating that into my practice.

So, at first, I started, obviously, you know, as I guess many of us do, you know, curious about the figure of Satan and Lucifer and that aspect of divinity and questioning divinity and all that.

But the more you read about it and practice and come to your own conclusions through experience, And for me, I found that the label, you know, just Satanist or Luciferian was too boxing myself in.

That by and large, Wiccans are both by and large.

Because one of the cardinal sins for losers is they hate the concept of hierarchy, whether that's like right and wrong they like cultural relativism like nothing's for you know of course they believe they're right but they believe in like my truth instead of the truth they believe they don't want any uh thing that can be objective that can be measured because then you get superior inferior and they see themselves in the inferior category so they want to do away with hierarchy Even like a lot of quote-unquote communists I'm not talking about people who sat down and have an economic theory and really seriously like a lot of it's not that it's just They want to be anti whatever the majority is because it's not normative.

So they just say, oh, I'm a this like like Wiccans and stuff.

They didn't look at it.

They just wanted to be not the majority.

Yeah.

And have you heard from anybody in the Wiccan world?

No.

Not yet, maybe I will.
