Generation X

like we're like entering into some like orwellian dystopian society that like if you asked me about this in 1999 i would have been like no way someone told me this would be in our future i've been like no way you know but here we are

Honestly, well, that's that's one of the advantages of being part of Generation X.

And, you know, before that, especially for Gen X, is that we were the last generation to know what it was like to live without the Internet.

Yeah.

And I realize Randy Fine is not a boomer.

He's, I think, Gen X.

But, you know, Randy Fine is of a certain ideological bearing and his loyalties are not to the United States.

They are to this idea of a joint U.S.-Israeli, you know, whatever.

So we can get into all of that, starting by a little conversation on the new rules of attraction going into towards 2027.

What Gen X and boomer people are finding attractive today versus 10 years ago.

So why emotional maturity has become the new chemistry or has it?

I'm going to put a little spin or twist on emotional maturity and just...

I'm Jamie Markley, the Gen Xer.

The Millennial, David Van Camp.

Specifically, anywhere from entry-level working professionals all the way through executive leadership, helping them have hard conversations, whether it's resolving conflict, giving or receiving feedback.

Right now, a big topic that I've been working with people on is intergenerational communication, because my goodness, Gen Z entering the workplace is very different than the workplace that the boomers have experienced, Gen X and millennials alike.

So here I am helping educate people on the foundations of professional communication because we will learn how to cite APA and MLA citations.

But we do not we are not taught how to actually like, you know, present in meetings or how to write emails.

The silent generation, the Great Depression, the greatest generation, World War II, the baby boomers were defined by Vietnam and its aftermath and Watergate.

Gen X, which I'm a member of, You know, 9-11 and the Iraq war and the aftermath of that, right? I can keep going forward.

What I'm here to tell you is that the fight of this generation, what this generation will be known for, what this time period will be known for, is an authoritarian attack on democracy.

An effort to cheat and subvert free and fair elections.

Gen Y, Gen Z, they're more comfortable raising their hand and talking about that.

But Gen Xers, Baby Boomers, they keep that s- stuff stuffed inside, and it's really important for them to understand that's not their only way.

There is another way, and the RAW group is there to help.

And we then connect folks to other resources that they might need.

We used to love that show.

Me and my best friend, we would watch it before school every day and then... we'd have to leave halfway through so we'd end up watching the whole thing again after after school as well and to see what we missed when we left for school uh and i have really good memories of of watching cartoons with my friend and um you know before after school it was kind of like those those few minutes you get right before you got to go to school were always the best This kind of story kind of feeds the nostalgia for many of us elder millennials and Gen Xers who have these fond memories as kids of watching old VHS tapes and stuff like that.

I think we all remember that feeling of impermanence that came with TV around that time.

You know, there was no YouTube, there was no DVR, and basically if you didn't set your VCR to record the show correctly, you just didn't get to watch the show, unless maybe you had a friend who happened to catch it and happened to record it.

Nineteen seventy four.

I'm a Gen Xer.

I'm where do I even start? I mean, I could read Shakespeare at age three.
