And so with that in mind, I wanna take you to some scriptures, then I'm gonna talk to you about our seven-year vision.
W- how can we be fruitful, not just as individuals, but as a church? Okay, let me set the context.
Across the land, grapevines are bursting into new growth, carrying the promise of a harvest to come.
Vinedressers are at work, training, tying, tending the vines, preparing them to bear fruit.
And on this night, it's the night of the Last Supper, Jesus has this conversation with His disciples in John 15.
Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.
Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me.
The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.
If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and withers.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you.
My Father is glorified by this, that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples." Verse 16 says, "You did not choose me, but I chose you.
And I appointed you to go and produce fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give you." Wow, what incredible words from God.
And h- the big point is this: connection to Jesus is the source of all fruitfulness in our lives.
You know, Michelangelo, years ago, was commissioned to paint the, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, this enormous ceiling.
