Like, joint mobility in general, uh, I, I think the problem, you know, from age, like, basically for most people I think from age 25 on, like, you, you just don't put your joints through any meaningful range of motion, right? Like, and if you just kinda look, like, at the cohort of people, you go, "Hey, can you touch your toes?" And they're just like, "Nah, I can barely get out of my car."
[laughs]
You know, it's like, oh, fuck, dude.
Uh-
I can't see my toe.
[laughs]
Yeah.
I can't ...
I haven't seen my toes in 20 years.
Eh, you know.
So when it comes to things like...
Like, I'll never forget, uh, doing the defensive tactics training down in El Segundo, or actually, what, what the fuck was that city? Uh, it's, you know, the Gracie, you know, combatives thing.
Uh, and I went down there with one of the guys from the jail.
And, uh, you know, during that training, like, I remember they went around the room.
It's all cops in the room, right? Like, we were the only two, uh, corrections-oriented people down there, and everyone else was a law enforcement officer, like active duty law enforcement.
And a lot of these guys were yoked, man.
I mean, they're just like big, beefy fucking dudes.
But they said, "Okay, we're gonna do a little warmup," and they had people, they go, "Okay, you know, stretch your arms up over your head, and do this and do that," and like, "Okay, now we're gonna kneel," and, and like I would say three-fourths of the crew, like, on the mat, and there's probably 100, maybe 150 people in this class.
I mean, it's a huge gym that, that the Gracies operate out of there.
And, uh, like, probably 75 to 80% were, like, here.
Like, that's their full extension of arms over head.
And I mean, they're big, strong guys, and I'm just like, huh, you can't...
You literally can't touch your bicep to your ear.
Like, that seems-
Yeah
