El Segundo

Anything is possible in a town that helped put a man on the moon.

El Segundo has a proud tradition of aerospace innovation.

It is home to Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Aerospace Corporation, the country's PhD brain trust that directs all American space missions.

Over half of all satellites and vehicles in space are manufactured in El Segundo.

The nation's largest defense firms are located here.

Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin.

Global positioning satellite systems, Global Hawks, unmanned aerial vehicles, surveillance aircraft, and the F-A-18 are also developed and conceived in El Segundo.

So that's very fascinating.

A simple example is Rainmaker on the cloud seeding side.

This is a business founded by Augustus Dorico, who is known to some as the mayor of El Segundo in Los Angeles.

It's a

legend.

Even if you got it, $100,000 a month going out, that shit hurts.

And for what? Now you got the new boyfriend laying up in the house that moved in from Pomona, El Segundo.

Tough.

Trying to fight about the kid pickup schedule.

meeting.

For those that aren't in the area, if you drive from Ontario to El Segundo, it's not during rush hour after

a board meeting.

We appreciate you.

During the committee's deliberations, it was informed by day-long public meetings in Houston, Texas; Huntsville, Alabama; and Cocoa Beach, Florida, as well as five days of meetings in Washington, D.C.

In addition, its subcommittees held meetings in Denver, Colorado; Decatur, Alabama; Huntsville, Alabama; Michoud, Louisiana; Hawthorne, California; El Segundo, California; and Dulles, Virginia.

The group conducted numerous teleconference and video conference preparatory sessions and communicated frequently by email, over seventeen hundred emails in the chairman's case.

Seeking to benefit from the views of the public, the committee established a website and Facebook site, used Twitter, conducted all decisional meetings in public sessions, meetings that were also carried on NASA TV, provided opportunity for public comment at five of the formal meetings, testified before committees of both the House and Senate, and held seven press conferences.

So interestingly, they found us.

We were operating for a long time and on the product market fit, slogan we were around pre-ai so the technology didn't really exist and we were around pre-industrial new new wave so the market didn't really exist and then when the market started to emerge in our experiences mostly on the west coast of the us so there's a tiny little neighborhood called el segundo in in la and there's this magical new era of companies are mostly founded by ex-spacex people and spacex and and tesla um were kind of the people that made this work in the modern era.

I think they actually invented and crafted a lot of the best practices here.

And it was their disciples.

And so I'm going to go back to it.

You said, I kind of just walked out and, you know, went to some of the El Segundo companies in my backyard.

That's not like we can't take that for granted because there aren't these clusters of high density, you know, hard tech, hard charging, you know, founders working on these sorts of issues in just every geography.

You know, there has been this kind of this concentration of talent and interest, excitement and to some extent capital in this little, you know, this little suburban enclave over the last few years.
