TIFF 2026 Film Recap (ft. Mick) | ANTICIPATION BLVD.

Yeah, I know that it won the Palm.

Yeah, that was big.

Yeah, a lot of hype around it.

I feel like every 2026 forecast list I've seen has this on there.

Also, Renate Rangela, is that how you say her name?

Yeah, it is.

Yeah.

He's so good.

I feel like I would see anything that she's in.

But I think there's also something about this sort of like Scandinavian setting.

I

feel like those Scandinavian films are something in the recipe of those movies.

They're always good.

I feel like they always hit.

You know what I mean? Yeah.

So let me tell you the premise, and I'll explain real briefly, and then I'll give my reaction.

So it's these two parents.

They're Romanian, and they move to a village in Norway.

And there's a huge culture clash between the Romanian parents, how they raise their children, and how Norway, very progressive, how they like to raise their children, and And what I wanted to express to you, this movie's very subtle.

It was more subtle than I thought, because the dynamics are all hidden, and you have to really pay attention to subtle details of how they treat their kids and how they talk, but...

What happens is Norway starts getting involved.

Like, we don't agree with how you treat your children.

And it's all these hidden dynamics.

And Sebastian Stan plays the father.

He's really good.
