Still Night, Burning House

Really? It was just kind of something that he mentioned casually, you know?

Well, can I tell you, Mick, he did participate in the documentary.

So that's how I knew, you know?

Yes.

The Predators documentary, which I want to say, cool thing at the end of primetime, there's a special thanks to a bunch of different filmmakers.

And one of them is the director of the Predators doc.

So they kind of collaborated on both projects together.

You know what I mean? I understand the sort of drive for the Pattinson character to want to eradicate this sort of evil, but I just wish that they had gone a little bit more into that.

similarly, though, Other Choice is about a laid-off worker trying to find a way in society which is run by capitalism.

And Possible Love is a w- laid-off worker with his wife cross paths with a documentary filmmaker, trying to figure out what to do.

And what I just wanted to say was the themes of Possible Love really, it hit my sensibility, and I completely was on this movie's wavelength with what it's saying about society.

And I wanted to say Burning is such a vibrant film visually with the cinematography.

I'm glad that we got to do it once again.

Yeah.

I will mention my final shout-out is this, uh, this is the smallest film I saw, was, uh, a documentary called Still Night Burning House, which I had heard from regional festivals, like local film festivals.

They're like, "Oh, this documentary is amazing.

Green here, finishing off the old program with our last guest of the evening.

Uh, back during TIFF, I got a chance to talk with documentary filmmaker Carol Nguyen about her first feature length documentary, Still Night Burning House.

It played at the Toronto International Film Festival.

It just wrapped up playing at the Vancouver International Film Festival this week, and tonight it is playing as part of the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal at 9:00 PM.

Thanks for having me.

Well, thank you for coming on.

Of course, your first documentary feature length, Still Night Burning House, is premiering at TIFF.

For people who haven't heard about the film, what is it all about?
