It was not pretty, and unfortunately had to follow that up with a road trip to the Milwaukee Brewers, who have been, for a lot of the season, the best team in baseball record-wise and continue to make their way towards the NL Central Division title.
And we had the big Chris Sale versus Jacob Miziorowski matchup to get things started.
Both of these games were...
Played on a Friday afternoon.
That was purposeful by MLB to give the teams a chance to kind of get ahead of having to travel on Sunday for the Little League Classic in Williamsport.
So that was the reason for the two afternoon games in Milwaukee.
And so we kind of missed out on prime time Chris Sale versus Jacob Miziorowski.
But it came out in the favor of the Brewers, and it was a low-scoring game just like we would have expected that game to be.
And unfortunately, the Braves came out on the short end of the stick there.
Sale did his job as usual.
He's had a terrible time this year with run support, of course, and Friday was no good.
No different for Chris.
2-1 loss, of course.
And Sale, again, did all he could do.
He went six.
He gave the Braves a quality start there.
Six strikeouts, no walks.
Only gave up the two earned runs.
Unfortunately, Mizorowski was every bit as good as we have seen him be all season.
The Braves did beat him last time out, but this time he got the better of them.
Mizorowski went six, allowed no runs, caged six, and walked two.
