But let's talk about Frankie Montez because he underwent Tommy John surgery and is out until the 2027 season.

Kevin, when you look at a guy going through Tommy John surgery, and I know there's many, but Frankie Montez is an interesting story.

What are your thoughts about Montez? He's supposed to be ready for a season that we may or may not have.

Will he even get paid next year if there's a lockout? But let's answer the medical part of the question first.

So as far as from a timetable perspective, obviously, you'd be pretty much wiping out, you know, the whole 26 season unless, you know, there was something where he did extremely well.

But in the case of Frankie, of course, once he had his surgery, the Mets designated him for assignment in November, and he was released.

so you know but he was old i think it was a 16 17 million or something along those lines so i mean he's getting paid for all the 26 and just getting ready for the 27 season the fact that there's probably going to be a lockout benefits those guys that have had surgery in those cases in a lot a lot because it backs up the timetable from when when they have to come back and compete so will it I don't see it changing him from the standpoint of him being paid.

Somebody's going to, if they see, if they do their homework, they see where he's at on a rehab perspective, somebody will pay him once that 27 season gets going.

We get all kinds of updates, and I know that, you know, the Mets, You never know with players.

But I guess like you say, the extra year of rest can only help, especially knowing what we're being backed up against.

I mentioned this on a Thursday show that all the teams that are being eliminated, they're going to have an extended vacation probably for all the wrong reasons because we don't know when this thing's going to end.

Well, you know, you do have guys recovering and doing well after Tommy John surgery.

It's not optimum to get Tommy John, but they do have good recoveries from it.
